The virus is smarter than they are.

It is just that simple.

Just got my communique from Medicare:

According to the CDC, older adults and people who have severe chronic medical conditions like heart, lung or kidney disease are at a higher risk of serious illness if they contract the COVID-19 virus. This means that most people with Medicare are at a higher risk.

Your health, safety, and welfare is our highest priority. In addition to practicing good everyday prevention through things such as hand washing and avoiding touching your face, the CDC says there is more you can do to take precautions against COVID-19 and reduce your risk of exposure:

Avoid crowds, especially in poorly ventilated spaces with limited air circulation.
Defer all cruise ship travel worldwide, particularly if you also have underlying health issues.
Avoid situations that put you at increased risk, including non-essential travel such as long plane trips.

Lookner commenting on briefing:

They didn’t really propose any big measures.

I think Trump has been one of our better Presidents, I am so glad I voted for him. However, unless the trajectory changes, he will have failed this nation like no other. If this goes south, I will never forgive him for not stopping the flights, the basic man off the street knew this 45 days ago. These coming deaths are on his hands. We could have controlled this, slowed it greatly, prepared, maybe even prevented disaster with summer approaching.

But no, let’s let Italy file and offer the masses some kind of income tax break? WTF ????

Anyone else notice VPs bright red, blotchy complexion? It seemed to grow more red, as the presser went on.

Some stuff can be canned, too.

Blueberries are one.

Yup.

Going to be working on that too.

I’ve got a shelf in my stand up freezer full of blueberries.

If nothing happens, I’ll have 30 or 40 gallons of them this year too. I’m making room for the new ones. We have a relative who will consume every bluberry sent his way LOL.

The virus is smarter than they are.

We don't know that. We don't know how easily it spreads. We don't know the death rate in healthy individuals. We don't know the mutation rate. We don't know when it will fade away.

Lookner quoted Pence saying “In our line of our work you shake hands.”

Conflict with message....

How important are these recommendations if you are not following them?

USA at 974 cases (worldometer), will join the ‘1K Club’ today.

Today is the 3rd highest “new cases” total since this began. Only the 13/14 Feb reports were higher when China changed their definitions. Italy, Iran, Spain, France and Germany top 5 increases.

Germany’s numbers are far better than any other country with a large number of cases, even SK. In general, Northern Europe is doing much better than Southern Europe.

Johns Hopkins made some politically correct updates to their country labels. Taiwan became “Taipei and environs”, and Iran became “Iran (Islamic Republic of)”.

I don't recall you blaming Obama for 1000 H1N1 deaths before he lifted a finger. Trump has done much more in much less time.

“ Why don’t you offer your advice?”

I’d say do what South Korea is doing.

I am going to jump in here....reality check is there is nothing they could really feasibly do to stop it. The only thing in the arsenal is to slow it down.

Why does slowing it down work? It gives the hospitals time...time to save lives.

They are working the results of the evaluation of the Pandemic Results from 1918. The results say locking stuff down too early, too soon...allows for resurgence at worse rates in the fall.

There is nothing to do except prepare the American people for a very, very bad ride. If it turns out appearing it wasn’t so bad here...it’s because it was slowed down. And the health system saved lives instead of being overrun by it.

I figure my grandfather got it on the third wave then. He was a young, healthy man with a wife and two daughters. My mother was one year old.
