UK
Dr Jenny Harries said experts are assessing new cases on an hourly basis to achieve a “balanced response”.
It comes as a man in his early 80s became the sixth person with the virus to die in the UK.
Meanwhile, many airlines cut thousands of flights, including to and from Italy, in the wake of the outbreak.
According to the latest figures, there were 373 confirmed cases as of 09:00 GMT on Tuesday. Of them, 324 are in England.
Northern Ireland announced four more cases, bringing its total to 16, and Scotland confirmed another four cases, increasing its number to 27.
The latest death happened on Monday evening and was a man with underlying health conditions who was being looked after at Watford General Hospital, the West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust said.
He caught the virus in the UK and officials are trying to trace who he was in contact with, the country’s chief medical adviser Prof Chris Whitty said.

Go to Midland and tell them. My guess is they might disagree.
Ironically TX has the lowest prices in the country
If we couldnt fight off the first (relative) handful of virons, we would have been wiped out at the amoeba stage.
You raise an interesting point, if you get a handful of virons, does that allow the body to essentially become resistant to it? Perhaps that explains why we tend to see this thing in clusters.
They need to be, with half of West Texas out of work. Lol.

Coronavirus: the Lombardy Region thinks to close everything: ‘We can’t stand another 15 days’
Fifteen days of absolute curfew in Lombardy. Close offices like shops, except those that sell powered goods. Reduce transport services to the strict minimum. It is the idea that the regional government has been evaluating for some hours and that has already anticipated this morning the councilor for Welfare Giulio Gallera in connection with the transmission Agorà, on Rai. ‘We had already asked to close all the businesses, because if I go out to go to work I can’t stop shopping. But perhaps the time has come to tighten the measures even more.’ Gallera added: ‘Shutting down entirely for at least Lombardy for 15 days can serve to reduce or block the spread of the virus, experts say. Why do we need another 15 or 20 days with such a frenzied growth of people in emergency rooms and intensive care units? we do not hold them, Lombardy does not hold them and Italy does not hold them ‘.

Hmmm, hadn’t thought of that. Maybe I will stop by that Chinese supermarket after all. Anyway, I think that’s similar to how vaccines operate. Of course the problem here, is the definition of ‘handful’ and knowing that you got the right amount, so I’ll stick with brisket instead. The other question is even with the body able to recognize and fight it...could it still be overwhelmed by a high concentration?
I do hope people are working on stuff like that, because the hand sanitizing and spraying Clorox on mail is getting old for me.
From Instapundit - SOCIAL DISTANCING: A friend from Italy reports: Day one of stricter measures throughout Italy. I went to the grocery store here in Pisa, where we waited outside, one to two meters apart, and one entered when another exited. No more than 15 in the store at a time. https://pjmedia.com/instapundit/360929/
Tou are correct. The presumptive positive ARE positive. Confirmation I guess for all still have to go through the CDC.
I dont remember who it was posting about the market yesterday here..maybe Steve...but we got the big Fib retracement overnight he was talking about...and so far it cant hold it. It’s not negative yet...but it could happen before end of day
I am still not in because this Virus story is not contained and we could WHOOSH at any time. Will see what happens after Europe closes
Oil stocks I am looking at are not holding gains either
I agree. We have a huge airport, huge population in Atlanta metro. It’s only a matter of time before we have a large number of infected.
My wife’s boss just got back from flying to Chicago for business, I told her to keep her distance. Ironically on Monday her company suspended all travel by employees for business. May be too late.
