Since when do priests shake hands after giving communion? Or why I avoid some churches...

Meh. It’s a Washington DC parish of liberal democrat Deep Statists. Good riddance.
/sarchasm - That gaping whole between a liberal and reality.

Same. They probably mean after Mass but that doesn’t sound as dire.

The hand shaking as a sign of peace has always seemed problematic, IMHO.

“This will be a good indicator of transmittability. Of course he may have gotten it from one of the 500 hands he shook.”

Since the CDC is advising everyone to wash their hands after touching surfaces, I would think a handshake would be just as much of a concern.

So apparently this spread much faster in Italy than in Japan, because in Italy it is common to greet by kissing both cheeks, which basically guarantees the spread of the virus; while in Japan they don’t even shake hands.

Our Church Will not allow us to dip the Eucharist but will allow us to take the wine from the chalice. Makes perfect sense to me......

Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written:

“‘He will command his angels concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’”

Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’”

Tweet from the President this morning:

So last year 37,000 Americans died from the common Flu. It averages between 27,000 and 70,000 per year. Nothing is shut down, life & the economy go on. At this moment there are 546 confirmed cases of CoronaVirus, with 22 deaths. Think about that!

“This will be a good indicator of transmittability. Of course he may have gotten it from one of the 500 hands he shook.”

If so, the person whose hand was infected was themselves likely infected and transferred the virus to their bare hand during a cough or sneeze.

Disposal latex gloves and never touching your own face - mouth, eyes, nose with your hand, is far, far, far more important than any face mask. The priest likely did not follow that last rule.
