Data shows daily coronavirus deaths are decreasing worldwide. Media misleads with cumulative statistics and graphs

With coronavirus death toll in the U.S. rising to 19, people are becoming increasing afraid of contracting the disease. To date, there are 3,803 reported deaths with 109,835 confirmed cases worldwide. Also a total of 60,694 people have recovered from the virus. As the fear of coronavirus continues to spread, there are a growing number of reports of empty shop shelves as people rush to stock up on basic products such as hand soap, sanitizers, tissue papers, and many more. It got so bad that some stores are now limiting purchases of these products, more due to coronavirus fears.

The fears stem from the misleading information coming from mainstream media about the trend of the virus. The media shows the number of fatalities continuously increasing, on a time-based graph. The problem with this is that, the media only uses a cumulative graph to illustrate coronavirus deaths. However, if you look deeper at the raw data provided by John Hopkins on GITHUB, the number of global deaths per day are decreasing worldwide.

Hats off to Evan at TradeGuru, who first noticed the discrepancy in media’s cumulative statistics and created a more accurate chart. According to Evan’s analysis using the raw data provided by John Hopkins University, “the virus is decreasing in hotspots such as South Korea, China and Hong Kong (the first to deal with the novel virus). The press tells us it’s an outbreak, or a pandemic on the precipice. Both situations would suggest exponential growth. The actual data doesn’t suggest exponential growth of fatalities at all. The data suggests decline. In fact, the crude death rate is statistically 0.”

Also, it’s now being estimated that 80% of individuals that contract the coronavirus are asymptomatic or midly-symptomatic. And in this viral video, Rebecca Fraiser says she “never really felt unwell” after contracting the virus, and it “sounds like it is the case for the majority of people.”

“We are shutting down the world economy”

The USA did not shut down the world economy. The USA did not order the factories closed, China did in order to contain an outbreak.

The stock markets crash because of a broke supply chain cause by the close factories in China. The corporation need to diversify there factor locations.

Yes the USA needs to focus on mitigation for the elderly. Nursing homes need to restrict visitors. Everybody else need to stay home if sick, and if you must visit your parent or grand parent wear a mask until it is all clear.

“Another old person” I would greatly miss my mother, aunt or uncle if they were to pass away from the this virus.

Germans are CLEAN - especially compared to Iran and Italy.

“Watch the trends.”

Indeed. And the trends worldwide are flattening out.

The corporations need to diversify their factory locations.

This devastates China's long term goal of being able to, at the flick of a switch, shut down any other country's economy.

They did it anyway.

If you know nothing else about this disease, that fact alone should give you pause.

“It was NOT opinion.” Well yes, it is. There are NO future facts dude.

“In EVERY country this thing has hit about 10% NEED ICU. 15% to 20% NEED hospitalization.”

Again, can you post NIH or CDC facts that back up that claim?

Ok, so it goes from cough/sneezer to surface to second person, who then gets it.

But the claim has been made (not by you) that it is being spread by asymptomatic people that later tested positive for it.

My question is then, if an asymptomatic person can spread it
—while asymptomatic—,
how is that happening?

Ok, I read down thread, (h/t paxetbonum)

Here's the problem... it's illogical for a Chinese bio-weapons lab to create a virus that gives people a mild flu.

Not logical...

We also know in totalitarian hellholes truth travels from trusted person to trusted person. Husband to father, husband to wife, wife to sister, sister to husband, to father and so on... And it travels fast. Within days most Asian countries were reacting to this situation like an engineered bio-weapon had been released.

Even China reacted that way...

Acted like it was a released bio-weapon... and China's had their full share of other regular flu types over the years.

These panic pushers will be thrilled when Trump is not elected POTUS because the economy takes a nose dive AND they contributed to it taking a nose dive!! I am absolutely furious to see the MSM so gleeful they FINALLY found something to take out orange man!!! The hysteria is mind boggling children are not dying, Generally healthy people are not dying, elderly WITH underlying illnesses and compromised immune systems are having severe effects BUT these same people,e would also have severe problems with the flu, or measles, or chicken pox, or phenomena YET very smart people are just HYSTERICAL go figure!! I am really worried about Trump not being re-elect because of the economy taking a nose dive!!!

That is why I said to focus mitigation efforts on elderly populations. I have old people I love too, but I know we shouldn’t be creating so much panic for people under 60. Fortunately, I now am hearing anecdotal evidence that younger people are catching on that there is a significant difference in outcomes for them vs. the elderly.

Hopefully, that will tame the cowardly calls for heavy handed authoritarian forced quarantine.

“More than 18,000 Americans have died from this season’s generic flu so far... Worldwide, there have been about 3,400 coronavirus deaths, out of about 100K identified cases. Flu, by comparison, grimly reaps about 291K to 646K annually.”

A Queens hospital just went thru the same thing. Lost 40-50 health professional for 2 weeks plus in 1/2 a day.

I believe that was a false report, and the source of the story has now confirmed it to be false.

how is that happening?

That stack of nested cups near the coffee machine or water dispenser?

They are invariably stuck together.

The asymptomatic guy in front of you grabs the top cup and tugs, while holding the next cup down with his butt thumb and booger hook. Precisely where your mouth will touch the rim!

Dry air makes your mucus membranes much more virus hospitable.

35 years ago an allergist told me that and said to run a steam vaporizer ANY time the heat was running. We followed that advice and our winter colds decreased by at least 50%.

I have one running right now. I am experiencing my first winter cold this season.

Should I be all scared and stuff?

That's up to you.

The S&P500 is an index of the stocks of the 500 largest U.S.A. companies.

Tonight's ES contract indicates that this market will open in the morning down at least another 5% (in addition to recent losses) if nothing changes before the open.

How much of your wealth is tied up in these stocks? 401ks? IRAs? Mutual funds?

If these companies slow down and start laying off workers, how might that affect you or people you love?

How you feel about it is up to you.
