"Miracles" is a song written by Marty Balin and originally recorded by Jefferson Starship, appearing on its 1975 album Red Octopus.
"Miracles" peaked at number 3 for three weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, making it the highest-charting single the band ever recorded under the name Jefferson Starship or its previous incarnation Jefferson Airplane.

Grace Slick used to be hot.....she didn’t age well.
I got a taste of the real world / When I went down on you, girlDirty lyrics on there, but soft rock stations play that anyway just like classic rock stations play Lou Reeds Walk On The Wild Side in spite of its lyrics . . .
The only Starship song I liked was “Sara”...lyrics kinda hit home and the sexy Rebecca De Mornay was in the official video...

Marty was the only band member who didn’t sleep with Grace.
Thats a great song from a great album. I remember when my brother got it from the Columbia Record Club (Dad, whats a record club? Whats a record?)
I’m still scratching my head as how they went from “White Rabbit” to “We Built This City”.
Like the sound of it for the first few minutes, but it does kind of drag on a little long and get boring. Overall though, pretty decent.
Paul Kantner left the band.
I don’t recall hearing about Mickey Thomas doing that, but I might have missed the big story . . .
Red Octopus was Jefferson Starship’s best album by far. I thought Miracles was one of the weaker songs on the album but it became the bit hit. After Kantner left and they became just “Starship” they really went downhill.
I should have specified the original Jefferson Airplane.
Mickey should have stuck with Elvin Bishop.
Not too bad considering her age.
IIRC, she’s actually been gray since the 60s, but stopped dying her hair.
She is now in her 80’s.
One of my favorite songs!
Yes, and he took the “Jefferson” with him.
Jefferson Airplane reunited briefly in 1989 too and recorded an eponymously-titled album.
I forgot that Marty Balin died back in 2018.
