One man was stuck in possibly the last place anyone would have wanted to be with a storm approaching: 375 feet above the ground in a crane. Thankfully, although it was a little too close for comfort, the tornado was far enough away to not do any damage to the crane Nash was in, and he made it through just fine.

Imagine a few OSHA violations just being up in the thing in heavy weather. I think the diction and dialect of the crane rider has done a gross injustice to the industry.

Many possible reasons, but most likely is they were adding sections to make the crane taller. So as not to delay the day crews by taking the crane out of service to jack it up.
