A place to consolidate CoronaVirus Stories
Good thing we just bought all new LED strings, this past Christmas.
:-)
“these live threads are longer....and less deniers in them these days”
Part of that, I suspect, is that we’re not too hot on the trolls that come here, just to disrupt us. Also, their main (implied) claim that huge oceans will protect us from getting sick or getting impacted by China’s shutdown is quickly being overtaken by the reality on the ground.
All my money is in cash now, but don’t pay off your home, my advice

In the last few hours we received confirmation of presumed - I emphasize presumed - positive cases of coronavirus in Pennsylvania."

USFK Update:
March 6, 2020
A USFK Korean National employee tested positive for COVID-19, making this the seventh USFK-related personnel to be confirmed with the virus.
The employee is currently in isolation at her off-base residence in Asan as directed by KCDC.
KCDC and USFK health professionals are actively conducting contact tracing to determine whether anyone else may have been exposed.
USFK remains at risk level high peninsula-wide and is implementing all appropriate control measures to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 as a prudent measure to protect the force

Trump cancels CDC visit after concerns that an employee may have coronavirus
A friend posted it to my page as a poke at my level of concerns.
I posted back that if he looked at the death rate...3.8% in a large population sample, that is about 1.25% higher than what Stanford says was the death rate for the Spanish Flu.
Then he reminded me this is only affecting old people etc. The emphasis on old people is giving others a false sense of safety.
If it wipes out 10% of old people, voting demographics will undergo a very rapid change in this country.
10-15yrs sooner than they would have anyways.
What happens when people panic? How long can any person jump up and down and scream ‘help’?
Really... what would a panic look like to you?
New case in Floyd County, Georgia
“China is celebrating their victorybig mistake.
They have contained it, not stopped it.”
It just starting to outbreak in Beijing according to leak report on twitter.
They don’t realize a lot of companies will move their factories now. They were a paper tiger economy depending on fake numbers for people to invest in China. That is about to come to end. Their economy is doom.
Is any of it paying for uninsured folks for treatment. This will be important when it hits skid row.
“Trump cancels CDC visit after concerns that an employee may have coronavirus”
Maybe that will get his attention.
If you haven’t read the “how to have the maximum immunity” pieces of this thread, there are a lot of comments on this.
One easy thing to do is to get outside (when the sun is out) and let the sun lift your spirits.
Staying inside is depressing, and you do not want to go there...
I already posted, upthread a bit.
“What happens when people panic? How long can any person jump up and down and scream help?”
Personally, I’m coming up on 6 weeks now, but my knees are starting to hurt.
“They were a paper tiger economy depending on fake numbers for people to invest in China.”
I guess it depends on your definition. For US and other companies trying to find alternative suppliers, they will soon realize that China is VERY REAL.
I guess the thought is that it’s better to run out of drugs on an equalized basis (by not publicizing the situation), than to create a run.
But, in the end, we get the same result - a virtual shutdown of our medical system.
