How do we know that people who had the flu up until now did not have the COVID19 strain if we never tested for it? I mean, ITS THE FLU. I will apologize if I am wrong, but this whole thing is absurd to me. 56,000 die a year from complications due to the flu. Again, how do we know that this particular strain did not exist before.
Again, I apologize in advance if I am being ridiculous. I have been traveling this week. Nobody is wearing masks. I am in a plane right now. Plane is full from DC to Las Vegas. Dont let a good crisis go to waste. The Dems would like nothing more than to see the economy crash. And they may get their with if the flaming harpies on TV keep up their hysterical shreaks. OK.. Rant over.
good question. Would love to see how this is answered.
we are doomed
It’s not “the flu”.
Very high death rate vs Flu.
Lab testing shows its unique.
when people get sick and go to the hospital they are tested for the flu strain... if it is a new one, they report it... if it is just an old run of the mill pig derivative, then they report that too. World Health Organization protocol.
ere go, we are all doomed.
um you can test for the flu
i am not sure the death rate is any higher...
your sources please?
Very good question, especially with the large number of flu deaths reported annually.
We don’t.
Any more than we know how many people had any historical disease with symptoms similar to other existing diseases.
We’ll never know how many people had mild or asymptomatic cases of Swine flu, or Spanish flu, or H1N1 either.
The only reason it’s an issue now is asymptomatic people can spread WuFlu. (WHO says we can’t use the word spread, as if controlling the language will stop the spread!)
Coronavirus is not influenza.
“i am not sure the death rate is any higher...
your sources please?”
Flu is less than .1%
This is over 3%
Google errrr Duck Duck Go is your friend.
The enemedia is hyping things, that’s for sure. Anything to harm Trump they will do.
When we get ill at my place, we don’t go to the doctor. The doctor is for stuff like setting broken bones, etc.
So far, the new coronavirus has led to more than 89,000 illnesses and 3,000 deaths worldwide. But that’s nothing compared with the flu, also called influenza. In the U.S. alone, the flu has caused an estimated 32 million illnesses, 310,000 hospitalizations and 18,000 deaths this season, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

your sources please... duckduckgo is YOUR friend, doomer
I agree with you!!
It's NOT the flu. The flu is caused by influenza virus which targets the upper respiratory system.
The corona virus is a variant of SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome). It targets the lower respiratory system (and other unknown areas). It's more akin to a viral pneumonia than the flu.
I believe his use of the term “flu” was generic. Since everyone who became sick this winter with something, how do we know it wasn’t the beer virus?
Why you need sources and links? Don’t you believe Bobibutu?
And in reality, since anti-biotics are useless against virus infection, the best defense against ANY and ALL viruses is to let your own body fight it by developing anti-bodies. Ditto with covid-19. So the only way to avoid death from any virus is to keep your resistance at top level. Which means get enough sleep, eat nutritious foods with natural vitamins, wash hands with soap every time you touch something others have touched, and if you can’t wash hands immediately avoid touching nose, mouth and eyes with your hand. The virus can not easily penetrate the tough skin on palms of our hands, but the wet nose/mouth/eyes are a welcome mat to the virus.
Now I am going to ask a really stupid question.
How do they have a lab test so soon and quickly to detect this Corona virus? If it takes a year or so for a vaccine, it is interesting that a lab test already exists.
And when a vaccine is available, how do they know that it will work considering there could be different strains of Corona.
Would this be a stand-alone vaccine or in addition to the flu shot many receive annually?
