British rock band Genesis have confirmed they are reforming for a 2020 tour -- their first in 13 years.
Phil Collins, Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford made the announcement during an appearance on Zoe Ball's BBC Radio 2 breakfast show Wednesday morning.
Revealing details of their comeback tour, they said they will perform a series of shows across the UK later this year.
The trio -- the band's classic line-up -- will be joined by Collins' 18-year-old son Nicholas on drums and longstanding associate Daryl Stuermer on guitar and bass.

Peter Gabriel or Phil Collins (From Youre the Worst)You need eggs to make pancakes!

Land of Confusion was an entertaining anti-Regan production. Did you know that the "Spitting Image" puppets are returning this year via streaming video? I'm sure more weird CNN-meets-Fraggle-Rock propaganda will be headed our way.

maybe the roof is leaking.. There was nothing wrong with Phil's "Face Value" album. A lot of good songs on that one.

Yep. Wind and Wuthering was the last album with Steve Hackett, and the last real Genesis album IMHO.You forgot "Spot the Pigeon", love "Inside and Out".

Right! There is a huge chasm between "Close to the Edge" and "Owner of a Lonely Heart." Indeed. They went from being a band with songs so long that very few radio stations would play them, to being a band that could produce a decent 4-minute pop song. Personally I prefer the older Yes. I heard a live version of The Gates of Delirium once that was freaking mind-blowing. It went on for about half an hour.

He’s done quite a few great albums, but remains unknown to most casual Genesis fans. He was actually a founding member of the band.

Ant was the main member of the band, but he didn’t like touring, so that’s why he left.

Collins is a high maintenance artist...his poor health comes from having accidents as a result of drinking to much.. He went to the "Twilight Alehouse" a bit too much.

As did Renaissance, one of my favorites. Great symphonic prog, then came Time Line in ‘83...

My prog band of choice in the 80s was Marillion.

I saw the Relayer tour at the old Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey City, NJ. Stadium seating. As soon as the band opened with “Siberian Khatru” everyone stood up. My friend and I started to walk to the stage and didn’t stop till we were about 10 feet from Steve Howe. Great concert.

Although I was probably one of the few who think “Drama” is one of their best albums.

I just can't see paying hundreds of dollars that they now charge for concerts.
Once in a while, 1960s rock concert posters will show up on History Channel shows like Pawn Stars.
They'll list a dozen super groups at a given concert and the ticket price is $5.50.

I saw their Seconds Out tour at the Paramount in Seattle. The best concert I ever saw live. But that is partly because it was the last concert I saw as ticket prices got stupid expensive and I started raising a family.
But yeah, I thought Collins had some back problem that kept him from playing drums any more.

No Peter Gabriel?
He’s not in the band. Still, I wouldn’t mind seeing him sit in for a few of their old songs. Old genesis was my favorite genesis.
