Continuation of the thread.

CDC Director—”new community cases, but overall risk to the public is low”.
True statement—today, and probably for a couple of weeks.
Fauci is talking about older people highest risk (but dosen’t mention that anyone can carry the disease without symptoms).
Nobody is lying—they are just not saying everything.
My analogy—A husband says to his wife “I am not cheating on you.”
So, the husband didn’t cheat today or even yesterday—but she didn’t ask about last week, and he isn’t volunteering the information about the fling last week.
watching. N95s for health care workers
I think they need better than 95s. The rest of the body is sealed inside 1 to 3 suits (I think I recall China is using 4?). The mouth and eyes are the weakpoint. Goggles take care of the eyes, so it seems there should be higher protection for the mouth/nose.
Agree.
I doubt many hospitals traipse down to Wallyworld to buy masks.
“essential lab test” (and so would be covered on private insurance/medicare/medicaid)
Eat ice cream and stay away from the hot peppers.
Pence:
“It is safe to fly.”
Of course you could have no symptoms and infect people from around the world.... :-(
Trump shouldn’t let reporters fly with him. Neither with Pence or their wives.
Reporter on Spring break—is it safe?

(I couldn’t resist....) :-)
Exactly.
Just wash your hands and all will be good. Somehow soap and water will kill CV on your hands but it does nothing for the virus sitting on hard dry surfaces. Well, all right.
What we are dealing with is linear thinking with an exponential virus.
I think the experts know this—they don’t want to cause panic and crash the economy—and I do get it.
You couldn’t pay me enough to do the job of anyone on that stage.
Manuchin also said it’s safe to fly commercial.
I’d like to see a few of these admin folks flying commercial, right now.
I know Don Jr (he’s not admin) did fly commercial COACH not too long ago.
Great.
How many people did this screener then pass on the virus to?
Maybe they’ll change the job description, for these *screeners* to SPREADERS.
Don Jr is impressive—I do not want him flying _anywhere_ right now. He could be our President some day.
“The problem with schools is that children can carry the disease even if they do not get sick.”
Yup and those adorable germ cultures carry their little cute germs home to infect Mom and Dad.
The real reason is that the schools need that attendance money to pay the bills. Little Jane and Johnny Doe are just $$ to the school.
Yeah—so in metro Seattle Adult A has no symptoms but passes the virus on to their child.
Child goes to school and passes the virus on to dozens of other kids.
Those kids go home and infect their parents.
Fast forward three weeks and the local hospital is in triage mode and local officials are debating whether to quarantine the whole town.
Meanwhile the kids are all fine!
Notice my scenario did not mention testing at all—because in that scenario testing is irrelevant except for data collection.
The schools thought in a linear fashion ($$$ as you say) but three weeks later they are all closed anyway.
UT Austin and Austin public schools and suburbs’ and beyond have their Spring Break, not so coincidentally, starting the same day as SXSW. Of course, it’s all safe. What could possibly go wrong?
San Antonio schools are out the last weekend of the festival. Pretty much all schools have one weekend off.
Well, the USA might never come about if that happens. Tobacco was the first export of the Jamestown colony and it struggled to survive even with that cash crop.
