Must be a shortage of that too. If they run out of antivirals theyll say they didnt really help.

A different genomic story. Kinda refuting China “2 strains” conclusion...

The kids will be fine—the reason you close schools is to prevent the spread of infection to adults (including teachers and other adult school employees).
Thanks. But she will be pissed at me if I let myself die for inconsequential reasons. Whos gonna pay her tuition?
I borrowed a couple of masks from my girlfriends doctor. Ill give her one of those.
New update for this excellent site. The update is entitled: “Indian Bans Many Pharmaceuticals”, but it covers many other topics of interest here:

India’s cases have jumped straight through a handful of cases to a small cluster (for a total of 28 cases). In response to this and to the loss of precursor chemical from China, India immediately banned the export of 26 important pharmaceutical products including paracetamol (acetaminophen), and clindamycin (a very useful and popular antibiotic).
:)
Just posted same link.
Sleep well!
Its FlyBE - the BE stands for British European.
The key point is “the loss of precursor chemical from China”
China will be bleeding customers through the nose for those.
Yep.
We’re not the only ones dependent, on ChiComs.
Many have said that there are a lot of Rx drugs made in India and other countries...but....these countries likely depend on China for components.
But, hey....I hear China is (mostly) up and running for biz, so it should all be good, right?

All of the schools in the Northshore School District will be closed for up to two weeks to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and take care of staffers, the district’s superintendent said Wednesday evening in a letter to parents.
Mr. BP says the radio says that Kings County/Seattle is closed for business - all work from home ?
Facebook, Amazon each have a worker in Seattle with coronavirus
Microsoft is asking its King County, Washington employees to work from home if possible through March 25

India does make drug “ingredients”, but as of today they have stopped export of 26 “active pharmaceutical ingredients” (APIs). (Need them for “in country use” apparently):

Thanks.
That’s good that India is self sufficient in making their own drugs/drug ingredients.
I had thought they’d at least be somewhat dependent, on China, for some of the ingredients needed to manufacture their own drugs.
We need to do the same.
Oh, wait....nevermind....from your link....
...Indian drugmakers rely on China, the source of the virus outbreak, for almost 70% of the active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) for their medicines. Industry experts say they are likely to face shortages if the epidemic drags on....
Good to see one school district gets it....
