I just hit up the pharmacy for extras of vitamins, cough medicine, Tylenol, etc. The medicine shelves were rather picked over. No hand sanitizer, etc. AND I live in the country-away from any big cities.
Glad you were able to get extras.
You may not need them, for this breakout, but you’ll be glad you have them, if you do....and, you’ll use them, going forward.
That’s amazing that the country stores are already picked over. Hubby was telling my in-laws (who are in the boonies) to stock up, on vitamins/OTCs ASAP.
You probably know all this but for those who don’t, if there’s still rubbing alcohol - 91% alcohol on the pharm shelves, that, and a few squirts of your left-over summer aloe gel to thicken it up gets you some fine hand sanitizer at about 75-80% alcohol. (Aloe gel is at 99cent stores and can probably thicken 4 or 5 bottles of rubbing alcohol. If the 99cent version is a little thin with water, it’s ok, you need water to help the alcohol stay on the skin longer)
If you have any saline booger wipes for babies, drain off some of the saline from a fresh pack and pour in some of that 91% alcohol, and you’ve got little alcohol wipes. (I’m not a chemist so I don’t know how alcohol works with other than saline-only wipes, but I do know you can mix rubbing alcohol with salt without creating any bubbling caldron of gasses)
Anyone low on vitamins better get them yesterday.
Lots of empty vitamin and cough medicines out of stock at both nearby small towns’ Walmart and grocery. Sunday, had to get the last sugar laden gummy Vit C at Wallyworld. Thought I had enough but wanted just one more regular C for the sick dog and he turned his nose up at the gummies (smart dog). Zero D3, turmeric and others. But the rest of WM was well stocked.
Last Monday, grocery store vitamins were picked over - No turmeric, C, D3 or multi-vit. They’d steadily been going down the past month.
