My dear old daddy, RIP, used to crumble up his corn bread in a big cold glass of buttermilk.
It was larrupin. So he said.

I loved this and needed to hear it today.
I am a true Southerner, but I absolutely HATE buttermilk.
It tastes like milk when it’s time to throw it out.

Ate a sourdough biscuit this morning with my eggs (yes The Sheness uses White Lilly). She keeps organic whole wheat and white sourdough starter living in the fridge. Sourdough pancakes are lit.

Good parable.
My father loved drinking buttermilk, since it was the only dairy drink he had: they would milk the cow, grandma would churn the butter out, and the children drank the rest. That was in 1930s rural Oklahoma.

Oh my. Made me think of my grandfather who died far too young when I was only 11. I will never forget how he loved a tall cold glass of buttermilk!
This is a great reminder I wish Id have had yesterday. Tough day. So thanks! Im going to pass it on. :)

Lord, I Hate Buttermilk
He's missing out. I drink a small glass every morning for breakfast with some scrambled eggs. I appreciate the taste of cold buttermilk, and it's healthier than a lot of alternatives.
And if you're going to eat something really hot - good chili, or Indian or Thai food, keep a glass of buttermilk on hand =).

I had a friend who loved churned buttermilk, as opposed to the one you used to be able to buy in the store. Can’t remember what he called that kind.
Buttermilk now gone from the stores, along with liver, kidneys, chicken fat, lard, zwiebacks, and Ragu pizza sauce.

Ya’ll gotta try the buttermilk chicken marinade,
2 pounds chicken tenderloins
1 cup buttermilk
1-1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon paprika
Let soak overnight, bread with seasoned flour, then fry in bacon fat. Hmm, hmm!
