SINGAPORE — The Ministry of Health (MOH) on Saturday (29 February) confirmed four new cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus in Singapore, bringing the total to 102.

Three more patients have been discharged from the hospital. This brings the total of those who have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged to 72, more than half of the total confirmed cases.

On Friday, MOH said that most of the 30 remaining patients in the hospital are stable or improving. Seven remain in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

As of noon, the ministry has identified 3,033 close contacts who have been quarantined. Of these, 269 are currently quarantined, and 2,764 have completed their quarantine.

Singpore is a good source for how the epidemic behaves and how it can be controlled. They are diligent about finding new cases and they test people to make sure they aren't shedding viruses before declaring them recovered.

We need Singapore officials in charge of our Disgraceful and disorganized
response .
I am saddened by the WH , CDC , and DC response .
We have flights still rolling in from China Korea and Italy .
We have two new virus cases here from people who flew in from Korea and Italy with no testing on arrival .
How did a country that stopped TB in the 1950s with strict quarantine rules
and TB hospitals/ camps become this disorganized disaster that
lets infected foreigners and residents stroll in here unchecked .
Singapore cares about its citizens so why is The WH , CDC , and DC
not following there great system .
Instead they all look like weak fools .

If Communist China were as open and honest as Capitalist Singapore much would be learned about just who and why some people become infected and seriously ill while other may not become infected or if they do , do not become seriously ill. Such information would give scientists a better understanding of this disease and allow proper planning and the allocation of resources. China , with its obfuscation and secrecy has committed a monstrous crime against humanity.

Using the numbers from the article:

Critical condition:

7 out of 102 is around 6%.

Recovered and out of hospital:

72 out of 102 is around 70%

In hospital, but stable or improving:

30 out of 102 is around 29%

It would be nice if they included the number of people who have recovered in these stories it would change the narrative completely

This story did but too many de-emphasize the number of people who no longer have it.

...

It appears that Singapore puts all their cases in the hospital. They don’t let them self isolate or quarantine at home.

A couple of weeks ago when Singapore’s cases were going up rapidly, bad things were being said about them.

Singapore implemented a screening system developed by Duke University .
They test for antibody reactions of all clusters of people linked to virus carriers .

That method stopped the carrier super spreaders .
Its worked .
We need this system .Duke created it .

Singapore is smart .
They dont trust that BS quarantine at home .
People in a high rise can infect neighbors thru the air ducts or door knobs or elevator buttons or laundry room .
Most people just break these pathetic at home nonsense and stroll down to Starbucks .Recall the Ebola nurse in Dallas riding her bike while in
home quarantine.
Singapore is serious about this virus .

Pope cancels for third day. He is either really sick. Or contagious.

Taiwan apparently has a great way to handle self Quarantines:

If someone comes in there from a Corona Hot Spot, they are put in self Quarantine immediately.

Anyone infected is shipped to a hospital immediately.

All other quarantined people have to wear an ankle bracelet.

Anyone breaking quarantine is arrested and fined about $30,000 US dollars. 1 million NT.

They also don’t know how many people contracted and never felt sick enough to see a doc. Or didn’t go because they didn’t feel sick enough to want to abide by a quarantine.

What would really be interesting to know is how far the virus has made it into populations, how many exposed, how many exposed get symptomatic, and how sick the symptomatic become.

Another stupid confusing headline written by an idiot journalist child.

I wasn’t going to comment but it just irritates the living ___ out of me when people quote a set of status numbers that don’t add up.
