I doubt it’s true, but it got me to wondering. Was there ever a Pope who died of the plague? A couple times, the population of Europe was reduced by about 1/3. It would have been hard for a Pope to not come in contact with carriers.

Maybe God always protected true Popes from plagues which would leave out this current usurper
