Don't bother trying to go to the link, it's behind a paywall. Here is the money quote from the article:

If Mr Sanders becomes the Democratic nominee, America will have to choose in November between a corrupt, divisive, rightwing populist, who scorns the rule of law and the constitution, and a sanctimonious, divisive, left-wing populist, who blames a cabal of billionaires and businesses for everything that is wrong with the world. All this when the country is as peaceful and prosperous as at any time in its history. It is hard to think of a worse choice. Wake up, America!

Apparently The Economist believes that disagreeing with left-wingers is equivalent to "scorning the rule of law."

Which happens to be what the MSM and the Democrat party believes which is just by coincidence I'm sure.

Socialist vs free market

Couldn’t be a clearer choice.

Tyranny or freedom.

[[[All this when the country is as peaceful and prosperous as at any time in its history. It is hard to think of a worse choice.]]]

The author undercuts himself at the end of the paragraph. Just where the hell does he think the prosperity came from?

I look for this meme to get started. “They both suck, elect Bloomy”

All this when the country is as peaceful and prosperous as at any time in its history.

And the cause of this is...? Could it possibly be because of the leadership of an orange "rightwing populist"?

America as the Founders envisioned it or America as some bitter elitist envisions it?

Capitalism in America has done alright.
Communism didn’t make America great.
Communism disrupted and slowed true capitalism down.
Along with capitalism bastard step brother crony capitalism.
Otherwise, we would be even greater than we are now long ago.
Modern democratic socialist public schools are not improving our children..it is turning them into wussified idiots.
democratic socialist Propaganda Journalism (fake news) is not making us better.
It’s destroying the truth.

So tired of being lectured to by the stinking Brits even as their UK sinks into monarchical idiocy, totalitarian rule, and Islamic dominance.

As they themselves might put it, “F*** you, Jack! We’re all right!!”

What the h*ll is the matter with Vermont?
CA and MA are bad enough.
But at least their political crooks come from high class families (or think they do). Being high class means that they are well versed in lying, cheating, debauchery and all things sleazy.

Oh, forgot about Fauxahantis. No class whatsoever in any department.

Back when I lived in the UK, the Economist was quite a good mag.
It seems to have plummeted to Newsweak (spelling intentilnal) levels now. Guess that the staff has not yet examined the state of their labor party. And yup, they most probably did not support Brexit.

If their staff gets worse, it’ll qualify them to work for the Guardian.

Kind of funny and ironic to see the “All this when the country is as peaceful and prosperous as at any time in its history. It is hard to think of a worse choice. Wake up, America!” sentence in there after slamming Trump too.- who does the author think brought about the peace and prosperity?

The article didn't name an author but if it did I'd wager that they would give the credit to Obama.
