For the second consecutive year, a former Notre Dame receiver made the right impressions at the NFL combine. Chase Claypool did not run the fastest of all the receivers in Indianapolis on Thursday, but his 4.42-second 40-yard dash wowed, nonetheless.

While six receivers ran faster, highlighted by former Alabama receiver Henry Ruggs’ 4.27-second showing, just one of them was taller than 6-feet and only two weighed more than 200 pounds. Claypool, meanwhile, measured in at 6-foot-4 and 238 pounds.

I watched some of the receivers do the 40 yd dash at the NFL Combine. Claypool's time is very impressive considering he is over 6'4" and weights almost 240 lbs. I am sure NFL team are salivating over the combination of size and speed.

4 seconds of separation between a WR and a CB is a lifetime.

The Cowboys need a good one!...................

I’ve watched him play for a ew years. He’s a big WR with good hands. Never knew he had that speed and he weighs 238.

There will never be four seconds of separation between the db and the wr. But the speed plus height difference could make that a moot point.

He might be playing on Sundays as a WR/TE due to his size. Or a poor man’s version of Mike Evans.

If he adds just a few more pounds and has some skill as as blocker > as a Tight End he will cause havoc for Linebackers and many Safeties trying to guard him downfield.
