I hear what you are saying. My family however are stuck in perpetual eating out due to our schedules. It’s convenient when we both work and have sports activities 4 days out of the week where we are taking kids to and from. We often don’t get home until 9-930pm on those days. We do make dinner at home the other days, breakfast for kids in mornings and they do have lunch from home. I guess we could be worse.
Our pantry is stocked so we can go at least a month with food. I think 24 cases of water is a pretty good amount for short term but we do drink a lot of water.
At least you have food.
one of my relatives, who could definitely afford to stock up, had a half bottle of expired mustard and a six pack of skunky beer in their fridge. That’s all. I think the pantry had some mothy saltines. This in a 5000sqft house on a golf course.
I can see eating out/etc if you are busy. No shame in that game. It’s the ones who do that with no ‘fallback’ food at home ‘just in case’ that bother me.
if you do stock up food, rotate it and donate stuff that’s near the expiry date to a food pantry or church. You win, they win, etc.
