Frankly, we’re too marginal to gamble on the market so couldn’t care less if it tanks or not. It’s all ebb and tide anyway. What goes up must come down. Folks are always in a panic over the market. It’s higher than it’s ever been but they’re all running around thinking the sky is falling even on this thread.
True.
I worry about day to day stuff.
We try to have a cpl weeks of food/water over and above our immediate needs. We’ve done that for years since Katrina. We’ve just upped it to 6w with this uncertainty. Really, everyone should have 6w extras if they can afford it. And it isn’t a ‘run out and get 6w extra food right now’ thing. We’ve been working on this over 2 paychecks now. The weirdness in China at the end of January prompted a bit of extra buying and we’ve done a bit more the past cpl of weeks.
We will likely cycle through what we have and replace what we use trying to keep the extras on hand long term now.
I suspect weirdness here in Oct/Nov anyways.
The people who live literally hand to mouth via drive thru, delivery and restaurant eating worry me. Especially the ones who could afford easily to stock up but don’t, for whatever reason. Likely normalcy bias.
