Continuation of Coronavirus live Thread. 4.
My daughter is a paramedic. One day I showed up at her house on a Sunday morning. She and her husband were laying in their couch hooked up to IVs because they went out drinking the night before.
This was during the shortage. I gave her a hard time.
But it shows that the folks at the top, and those with keys to the warehouse will do just fine in the crisis.
We were at Vandy last month visiting with a doctor friend. He told us his wife and kid had the flu so he’d just called in Tamiflu for them. I asked what kind of flu and he said, I don’t know. Didn’t test. But it’s almost impossible for the peons like us to get Tamiflu, at least it was during H1N1.
There seems to be a belief that the Corona virus is "no worse" than the flu. Or that the flu is MORE deadly. Or that the flu has killed more so therefore the corona virus is overhyped.
If you think that's true then answer this simple question:
Why have the governments of ALL countries affected taken extreme steps to stop it's spread?
Why did the US ban flights from China? Why is Italy cutting off entire towns to stop its spread? Why did Japan close all schools for a month? Why has Israel essentially shut down travel?
Understand that countries are doing things that are unprecedented in modern times to try and stop this. If it's NOT a big deal why are they essentially shutting down their economies (China, South Korea, Japan etc) to try and deal with this?
Just answer the question...WHY are government treating it LIKE it's extremely dangerous IF it's no worse than the flu?
Of course nobody could answer the question and the thread got yanked with the reason of "counterproductive".
I think it's a fair question. If people are OF THE OPINION that it's overhyped and no worse than the flu then WHY are they allowed to propagate that question?
I really want to trust Dr. M, but I don’t. I believe she’s lying and hate to realize the president and country are relying on her for accurate information.
We have enough infighting without you contributing another vanity thread to the mix.
I understand. My account now has been flagged...i.e. MY comments are now being moderated despite having been here for over 20 years with virtually no issues. That's a bit insulting.
Also my account has been flagged as “too new” to even send freepmail. So I can’t even reply to or send freepmail. Can you fix it.
I thought it was a valid questions that deserves an answer. But, what the hell do I know.

I would be happy if there were a logical answers to the those questions that correspond to the belief that this virus is "no worse" or "like the" or "not as deadly as" the flu.
Why would the CDC give all these updates if it was “just the flu”?
There are plenty of threads about this topic on which you could post your question. A vanity is not justified.
I keep seeing this phenomenon where freepers think they have a thought so profound about a topic well covered they just have to post a vanity. They don't.
I had been asking the question in other threads and nobody can answer it. I did it to consolidate ALL the answers and to get wider feedback which would hopefully help us to coalesce around the truth. But alas...

What’s that about conquering the US without a shot fired? Hit the healthcare workers and the military with this and cut supply lines.
Perhaps he is referring to the illness itself and that most people recover. What is different is its ability to be spread for a longer period of time by people without showing symptoms.
Rush is making me sick. After DAYS of literally lying about how dangerous this is Pence comes out and says that the government is completely mobilized to do all they can to stop the virus. Does that sound like a flu virus?
