Thanks to a decision reached at the Chicago Board of Education meeting Wednesday, students and faculty will now observe the second Monday in October as Indigenous Peoples Day rather than as Columbus Day.
Until now, Chicago Public Schools had celebrated both holidays, but Wednesdays decision means that only Indigenous Peoples Day will be celebrated.
I think its great, changing the name of the holiday. Thats what (the celebration) is really all about, Chicago charter school teacher Erin Walker said.

A proper celebration should involve giving up all inventions of European civilization. Nothing electric for a start.

Great idea.
They could showcase the “indigenous people” with a parade and floats illustrating how they would kidnap, kill, capture, torture, and rape each other before the Christian missionaries made them stop.
