Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders will be hosting a rally in Los Angeles on Sunday (Mar. 1), and Public Enemy is set to perform. Comedian Sarah Silverman and beloved actor Dick Van Dyke will also take part in the event.
The rally comes just two days before Super Tuesday (March 3), during which the greatest number of U.S. states (California included) will hold primary elections and caucuses. Sanders has already won the New Hampshire and Nevada primaries.
Public Enemy's performance comes as no surprise, as in their decades-long career, the group has often focused on political commentary and African American issues in their music.

The two on the top end looks like they came out of central casting as a stereotypical enemy bodyguards. The three bottom guys looks like they couldn't spell CAT if you have them the three letters. The guy in the middle looks like your friendly neighborhood thug...
Don’t you mean (c)rap?!?!
Seems very appropriate!
Hey Dick, he put us in a war...it’s liberals versus CONSERVATIVES. Trump is fighting for America loving Americans, not Socialist Globalists...
Same thing!
As I remarked before, the liberal Dems of yesteryear were never AntiAmerican, like today’s Dems are...McCarthy was anti war, so was McGovern...Ribicoff and Thomas Dodd were wrong in some things, but they like defense...
No. I'm not saying it's Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, or Beatles territory, but for it's genre it's easily the greatest rap album of all time.
I know many FReepers despise rap, but the album was the first to incorporate ordinary sounds and spoken word quotes into beats. Just from a production standpoint alone, the album gets high marks.
Haven’t a clue. Never listened to their music. In fact never heard of them before this article. 8>)

Dick van dyke is as disappointing as Andy Griffith was. I dont know what happens to these old guys. As American as apple pie one minute and a commie the next.
They were likely leftists when they were playing their iconic roles but didn’t advertise it at the time. Always assume an artiste is leftist until proven otherwise.
Pubic Enemy? More like Public ENEMA
Geez...these guys have been embarrassing themselves since Apocalypse 91. Fitting theyd take advantage of a captive audience.
Thanks for the clarification.
When you said the dangers of "smiling", I thought you might be referring to Dick's ads for Pepsodent.
He did have great teeth, despite all of the smoking.
