People have been weighing in with their opinions. My wife tells me her friends want to know my opinion. Hell, I am a (retired) doctor and I dont know yet what to make of it. A virus usually attenuates with passage. So you could expect this virus to become progressively more benign with passage. That said, so part of that process probably requires an interaction with the human immune system. They say this virus doesnt provoke much of an immune response. So it may be already acting in unanticipated ways. Spring is coming. If this is essentially a flu (and it is, respiratory droplet and finite transmission, pneumonia the pathological mechanism of death) then it should abate with Spring.
We are still in the phase where new communities are reporting single and double digits. Far to early to say anything.
Agreed it could appear to abate in the spring/summer. But then roar back in the autumn. Didn’t the Spanish Flu do something similar?
