It seems to spread faster among Asians and perhaps be more lethal, but since real statistics from China are so hard to get, who knows?
The death rate doesnt seem that high, and those who die are usually quite elderly or have prior respiratory problems, groups that are traditionally very baldy impacted by any flu.
I think we need to calm down. Its very communicable but its not a death sentence, especially in the developed world (of which China is not a part in its treatment of its citizens).
There are plenty of 20 and 30 somethings who’ve died of this in China.
The older people die first.
The younger ones linger in the ICU for up to a month before they die too.
Younger people die of ‘cytokine storm’. That’s what killed the younger people during the Spanish Flu outbreak of 1918.
Except for the 29 year old nurse, 29 year old doctor, 34 year old doctor and 42 year old director of a hospital to name a few who died this past 2 weeks. And we only know those because they were high profile.
