Just got a call from my Senator Graham office. They ensure CDC is doing testing... A little confuse, the CDC needs to update their website if they are testing.
I am not sure the young lady understood what testing means.
I think there are some high-level people in Iran with this virus.
Listening to news conf. Not feeling it, but talking about supply chain in medical products.
Butttt Senator Graham office stated the CDC is testing.. I do not think they are...
Yeah, but-
The media always twist a story BEFORE the event.
Time after time they claim something will lead to a disaster, when it won’t and doesn’t.
So. logic says it’s happening again.
(Yeah, shame that tea leaves reading is all we have, still.)

From what I have seen, this is false, but maybe you can point out some data that shows a 2% mortality (without going back to 1918) for the flu. Everything I've seen shows influenza (including influenza related pneumonia) to be less than 0.1%, with no significant outliers.
Most of the rest, I agree with, but understating the mortality by a factor of at least 20 isn't helpful. Part of what stops dangerous diseases from spreading is awareness and precautions, both at the personal and public health level. The more dangerous a disease is, the more people will take measures to avoid it. The flu is little more than a nuisance, so people don't take many precautions and tens of millions of Americans get infected every year. This isn't the flu, so people will be more cautious.
Baden-Württemberg has its first coronavirus case: According to the state government, an infection was detected in the evening in a 25-year-old man from the Göppingen district. It is believed that the man became infected during a trip to Italy in Milan.
BREAKING NEWS: Trinity catholic college in Middlesbrough is closed for the rest of the week after pupils returned from an Italy Ski trip showing flu-like symptoms.

Believe whatever you want lol
BREAKING: Algeria reports first case of coronavirus
I do agree panic can do more damage than the disease. Just look at the psychotic behavior shown in China over the last 6 weeks towards the infected. I've been posting as many of those video clips as I can ferret out. Ukraine's response to a few busses was completely unhinged, too. We've even seen it in Calif, with sanctuary Costa Mesa folks who have no problem with illegals who may carry disease into their community (but allows them to wear shiny virtue-signaling badges), yet actually got a court order to prevent US citizen patients from being locked in a secure building for 14 days. Otoh, lulling folks into a sense of false security by discounting the disease as a 2percenter or old people problem or smoker problem can cause just as much damage. I'd much rather see people turn into clean-niks, carrying around a personal bar of soap to wash their hands and calling out the disgusting street spitters. :)

The U.S. Navy’s 7th Fleet said Tuesday it will screen all personnel boarding its ships for coronavirus — formally called COVID-19 — as the virus spreads across Asia.
“We have developed plans to screen all personnel including but not limited to crew, visitors, civilians, contractors, and new check-ins gaining access to [7th Fleet] units and platforms,” said Lt. Joe Keiley, 7th Fleet spokesperson, in a statement. “These additional screening requirements will include newly gained personnel and those returning from leave.”.

I hope not. A lot of high-level, multi-nation pow-wows happened in the last two months.

Another BS statement from PIF
The kits are sent to a LAB, not a state government. No state has more access to these labs than any other state. You could be hospitalized with symptoms across the street from the CDC, but that doesn’t get you tested any faster than someone in Wyoming or Texas.
Yes, we need the ability to test at the hospital level for those hospitals that have the ability. But right now we are barely testing at all. That’s a policy problem, not a lack of capacity.
Only three US states can test for coronavirus, says public lab group

KEY POINTS
California, Nebraska and Illinois are the only U.S. states that can currently test for coronavirus, the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) told Reuters on Friday.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) last week said some of the testing kits sent to U.S. states and at least 30 countries produced inconclusive results due to a flawed component.
The CDC planned to send replacement materials to make the kits work.
