Then covers Tsarist Russia— the murder of Russian royal family including Alexander— the ill prepared Nicholas and his German wife Alexandra— Father Gapon (Okhrana secret agent— later murdered by Bolsheviks. Rasputin, and the secret policeman Okhrana Director Pyotr Rachkovsky. Machinations of the Russian Foreign Minister with Austro-Hungarian F.M. annexing Serbia (a Russian protectorate) and then a Serbian revolutionary murders Franz Ferdinand and his wife, setting off mobilization based on treaty and World War I.
The series reviews Kaiser Wilhelm’s hopeless support of Lenin, the financing of the Bolshies against the Tsar (some 10 million in gold bullion on a sealed armored German train— all true) . Germany still loses WWI and the Kaiser abdicates & escapes to Holland for the rest of his life. Series ends there— and all of the “Eagles” of Europe have fallen. Excellent production of the fall of the European monarchies and their monarchs. Historically quite accurate.
