1. This thing is not “just the flu.” 2. 1/10th of the worlds population is in some sort of lockdown. 3. Generally, we don’t buy the Chinese numbers But if anything they are low. 4. Everyone is welcome to post, but don’t bore us with your “you are panicking” posts. They are tedious.

I think they've done thousands of tests and have all kinds of data, but they are internally pointing to some specious argument that there may be a problem with the tests so that they don't have to make the results "official" and therefore release them.

Since they will have to eventually release them, this can only be for the purpose of delay.

They don’t WANT people to prepare.

They WANT healthcare workers infected with this.

Those are the only conclusions I can come up with...

All so ‘important people’ can prep their OWN supplies and get out of their investments with as little pain as possible.

Actually at this point in time it is better for the CDCnotP to stay away. We need to take control of this ourselves. Nurses and Dictors, your lifes and your families lifes are on the line. Tell the CDC and the WHO to stick it. We need proper test kits. Anyone. University , corporate lab, research center, get on it people. Forget about US restrictions. The US government has apparently resigned.

I certainly understand. I know some people like your son in law, they are going to go. I think there are more people who won't go.

I think I would be somewhere in the middle. If all proper protocols were being followed, then I'd go. If they were short changing anything, I'd be very comfortable with telling them no, I'm not coming in.

This is no different than the government of HK leaving the border open with mainland china and not giving them sufficient protection to treat infected patients.

There are less than two dozen BSL4 beds in the US. That’s less than 2 dozen. Two dozen, people. We need the military in to finish these projects as fast as the Chinese threw up their hospitals, but with higher quality.

I believe you misunderstood my point: In general, the most easily replaceable parts of a multi-component consumer item are NOT going to be the “functional or necessary” parts.

I would not be surprised to find that 80% or more of US manufacturing production depends in some way shape or form on one or more imported components or materials, with a large part of that from China.

(The way this is going, the “from China” part may not matter much in a few weeks. See: “Korea”. Etc. Possibly some of the warm weather countries like Indonesia can fill in a little, but, either “from here” or “from there”, as we agree, I think, that takes time, and it takes even more time to build really big capacity.)
