Mumbai businessman Raphael Samuel told the BBC that it's wrong to bring children into the world because they then have to put up with lifelong suffering.
Mr Samuel, of course, understands that our consent can't be sought before we are born, but insists that "it was not our decision to be born".
So as we didn't ask to be born, we should be paid for the rest of our lives to live, he argues.
A demand like this could cause a rift within any family, but Mr Samuel says he gets along very well with his parents (both of whom are lawyers) and they appear to be dealing with it with a lot of humour.
In a statement, his mother Kavita Karnad Samuel explained her response to "the recent upheaval my son has created".
"I must admire my son's temerity to want to take his parents to court knowing both of us are lawyers. And if Raphael could come up with a rational explanation as to how we could have sought his consent to be born, I will accept my fault," she said.
Mr Samuel's belief is rooted in what's called anti-natalism - a philosophy that argues that life is so full of misery that people should stop procreating immediately.

It is part of the pagan Earth worshipers outright hatred of humanity. At best, they imagine the world an appropriated Garden of Eden myth, the sacred perfect paradise filled with only the few true believers. And they want the rest of us dead.
They’re also appropriating the concept of original sin, attaching it to all humanity. The animals are the sacred innocents. Thus the hatred of newborn children and almost no hope of redemption.

His lawsuit is more an act of propaganda - to share the word that having children is an EVIL act. That the moral good requires you NOT to have children.
I’m pretty sure I have heard of a similar case about 5 to 8 years ago, also from India. This may be the same fool.
Humor is not the way to deal with it. Psychiatrists might be closer. Never shaves, probably doesn’t even bathe or use mouthwash, then gets mad about having no girlfriend from an appropriate Caste. “Kids” today!
Well, let’s let him correct the situation. As long as he’s alive, we have to assume that he’s OK with having been born.
Call it “late late term abortion.”
Why not?
Well, according to the Democrats in this country, it’s not too late to abort him.
If one of the other 100 million sperm cells had gotten to the egg first, he would be a different man.
In this one particular case, the first one in’s a rotten egg.
What you resist persists.
So it's his own fault!!!
If he didn't want to win, he should't have swam so hard.
His parents should counter sue him for interfering with their attempts to have a child that would be respectful and a help to them in their old age.
Although no woman wants to be pregnant forever, she didnt have any say as to when he was born either.
And the father didnt have any say in it either.
He really should be suing whatever god he believes in.
I think we tried that line on our parents when we were kids.
It didnt fly.
Maybe his lawsuit sets a precedent. Now we can have a class action suit by all the babies who did not consent to be aborted.
Reminded me of something.
His dad should say “I brought you into this world and I can take you out.”
Did you forget to assign a "/s" tag?
Or
Why are you being a petulant little d!ckhead?
