That would be 3.5 million deaths in the US.

Not to be grim, but that’s probably 3 million on top of the normal death rates.

People are missing this statistic in their “don’t worry” attitudes.

3.5 million more deaths?

In 2017 there were about 2.8 million deaths in the USA. Flu and pneumonia around 55,000. Although I think in 2018(?) the flu deaths were around 90,000.
