I’m wondering if this will be like HIV where you’re never really clear of the virus. Antivirals will knock it down for a bit but stop those and it comes right back.

I suspect that will be the case. If this proves to be a retrovirus, then the DNA copy is intra-cellular. The antivirals are just stunting the replicase/protease generation to keep viral replication at bay.

Based on recent reports, this corona virus can act on lungs, heart, kidney. Virus is found in the gastrointestinal tract and excreted in feces. Multiple paths out of the host to other prospective victims.

I interpreted that to mean a cytokine storm in the latter stages of a Cov infection can attack those additional organs. Pretty sure this is a specialized lower respiratory virus.
