This will be the forever thread.
True. Most governments will use any excuse for their failures :-)
thanks! Yeah the Iran situation has me a bit on edge - these places with 0 transparency get hit really bad because the authorities thinking their “social order” matters way more than the people, so they try to hide things like this.
I wonder how many Iranians travel to the U.S. each day? I wouldn’t think too many. But they’ll go elsewhere, then they will come here...
I decided not to go to church until this all calms down. Not sure our priest would agree, lol. But really I think God knows where we all are, and my family doesn’t need the risk of standing 1 foot away from other people for an hour and fifteen, even if we can avoid the wine by going to the Latin service (which also doesn’t pass the peace).
A friend said the Diocese here in AK had stopped doing wine and passing peace at the non Latin services but I’m not sure about that. Seems ALL churches need to stop these things for now.

How is your hubbys coworker, whod traveled to China, doing?
I believe he was self quarantining.
cool chart!
What about the Iranians traveling to Syria, etc.?
Plague is a horrorr to armies. Iranian supported orgs must be terrified.
Yeah who knows what will happen, a virus laden Iran was something not too many were predicting. Seems Thailand has dodged a bullet so far, I read they were one of the top places the virus could do real damage. That along with Tokyo and India - India also appears to be dodging a bullet, or just not testing for real...

I don’t think I need to say this is sarcasm, but just in case, “this is sarcasm”.

Does anyone know definitively if nearly everyone in China, or at least Hubei province, received a SARS-1 vaccine some years ago? Obviously, small children now wouldn’t have been around then to receive it. I want to know if a prior vaccination can be ruled out as a reason for augmented susceptibility to SARS-2CoV or not.

. We should expand testing for coronavirus in U.S. to those who meet clinical criteria for serious manifestations of the disease to detect outbreaks earlier, while we can intervene to stop spread

China here reminds me of the Potemkin Village meme.
But they don’t have to provide an actual Potemkin Vilage to the media just the report.
And the Western media will trumpet.
The tests have only been 30-60% accurate. This is the reason many are recommending chest CTs to look for specific lung characteristics If a person has pneumonia and neg. test. That is what they have had to do in China.
