Someone said he was known as No Neck Newman..or something like that.... Yep, I see it in that photo. That thick short neck probably was a blessing in that crash.
I remember seeing the following in a race report several years ago - don’t remember the source:
“Newman sticks his neck out an awful lot for someone who doesn’t have one.”
