It may be a biodegradable adhesive that will eventually dissolve. I see nothing in the article or statements indicating the fixturing method.

Not really. Cyanoacrylate (super glue) is water soluble. The oils in their feathers will allow the glue residue to fall off in just a few days. Besides, they are pigeons. Sky rats
