I keep thinking...how hard would it have been for other teams...pitchers and catchers...to change the signs between innings?
Thus, if a hitter gets the "word" that a fastball is coming when in fact it is now a curveball, would that be the way to combat the sign stealing?
I mean, the pitchers hold their gloves over their mouths during mound meetings to combat the efforts of all those Major Leaguers who can read lips.
The Nationals did that very think in the 2019 World Series and won all the games in Houston.
Just how dumb are catchers and pitchers? It is down to stubbornness, laziness or dumbness that all catchers signs dont have changing pre-decided indicators that change the signs or the sign order with todays technology. You base it on inning number or the score or number of outs or anything else that changes as the game progresses. It would completely foil any sort of sign stealing, legitimate or via technological device.

So then it would only take one or two pitches after the change to figure it out again.
