It was Christy that introduced Pence to Our President, wonder what he has to do is all of this...
When I first heard about this I said I never trusted Pence before this, and now I see why I was right...
You can only hold your enemies closer for just so long before you get rid of them...

Not at all. It looks like they were going to try and get him removed from the Ticket using "Rule 9" of Republican Party.
It looks like the absolute scumbag, Ryan, pushed for it and Pence went along briefly before calling it off because, contrary to their expectations, Trump mopped up the floor with HRC in their debate.
Pence then called for "Plan B" -- which is not explained.
Sadly, I am finding this information believable.
But maybe Pence has done adequate "Penance" by now. Clearly POTUS has known all about this incident (of October 2016) for a long time.
Pence is admired by Trump's single most powerful base of supporters, the Evangelicals.
