Reading that article at the very end it indicates that Russia is asking Turkey if they are aware of the vehicles crossing the border. Turkey disavows them and then Russia immediately hits them.
That means that Turkey can’t call foul since they already disavowed. Interesting play to say the least.

In looking at NATO’s charter, (and me not knowing nothing about nothing)
Article 4 doesn’t seem to apply which means neither does Article 5?
Nothing in the Charter accounts for a member nation “leaving the reservation” and then getting whacked.
