A good many Freepers do not access FaceBook, and that's fine. The link above may not work for you. But here is a good list of reading material you may enjoy, coming from a seasoned professor of the liberal arts. Tony's books in their own right are excellent, serving as a way to preserve what we have received from those who have gone before us.

As for my own reading, alas, I am a poor reader. Slow. Inattentive, but willing to slog through details and ask questions. Boswell's work I read in part decades ago, and it was truly great. Homer I have translated from the original language but fail to grasp.

Anyway, hope this sparks some hearty repartee, as we are all along for the ride.

Last night I stayed up till 4am reading a literary fiction book by a local writer and the prose was so elegant, it made up for any weakness in the story.
It felt so good to read hard cover lit, taken out of the library - I felt squeeky clean. Like I just took a shower after missing a few fays! Thanks for posting, great timing.

For those with Kindles, you can download most if not all of these works for free. I recently downloaded the entire works of Jack London for free. Love those tales of the Klondike - they never get old.

In high school, I found Victor Hugo’s “Ninety-three” fascinating and plan to reread it.
