Even Michelle Obama struggles to feel good about her body sometimes. In a recent discussion with Oprah Winfrey, the former first lady talked about fighting societal expectations as she gets older.
“We are so ridiculous as women,” she told Winfrey at the Brooklyn stop of Oprah's "2020 Vision" tour in partnership with Weight Watchers Reimagined, according to People. “We don’t want to talk about our age, and then we want to act like we should look like we did when we were 20, you know? When, I’m sorry, men you can look any kind of way. And it seems to be okay.”(snip)
As the first black first lady, Obama felt heavy scrutiny on the campaign trail and even in the White House. From her bare arms to her butt, every part of her image has been picked over publicly.
“People called me all kinds of things when I was campaigning for Barack, like it was a competition,” she said. “They called me un-American, and this stuff sticks with you. Men talked about the size of my butt. There are people who were telling me I was angry. That stuff hurts, and it makes you sort of wonder, what are people seeing? That stuff is there. And look, I’m a black woman in America. And you know, we’re not always made to feel beautiful. So there’s still that baggage that we carry, and not everyone can relate to that.”

She wandered all over the place, appearing to consider “angry”, and “unAmerican” as body issues.

She spent 8 years stuffing herself with $100 steaks and lobster. Now she’s complaining that people think she’s fat?
Look on the bright side, Mike, at least you are no longer living in a house that slaves built.
There’s a lot more to “repulsive” than appearances.
I refrain from making fun of, or criticizing people because of their looks, weight, or pretty much anything else (though I do have an issue with tattoos, because people make a conscious choice there)
But once someone decides to attack me and attack my country, they are deserving of attack and ridicule from every angle possible. It is war, they treat it as such, and we should reciprocate.
It isn’t just a difference of ideas. It is a difference of ideas her and people like her have that endeavor to destroy this country and remake it in their image.
Her, her husband, and all their cronies should be attacked and ridiculed at every opportunity.
And we care about this why?
The question is directed at the fact that she is simply a woman with NO accomplishments who happened to marry a known man (also with NO accomplishments save for being a very good liar).
Why not go to some women with talent and accomplishments who have not received due recognition? I can name many. Journalists appear to be able to name none.
For heaven sakes, the majority of us could do with some body improvements, but we still manage do do useful things in life.
She has done nothing.
Zip, zero, nada.
