Continuation of previous thread.
Looks like an interesting novel. Let me know when it’s published and under what title.
I know, reads too much like fiction and people are believing it.
here is something sort of new

First of all, new coronary pneumonia is not the same as SARS or avian influenza. In many cases, SARS is very severe when the patient comes up. However, the early onset of new crown patients is not very dangerous, but in the later period, there will be an acceleration, and the patient will soon enter a state of multiple organ failure, which will be a storm of inflammation. Once in this state, it is difficult for our treatment to pull it back. This is completely different from the past. Many patients do not die from the lungs. Because the hospital has ECMO (Extracorporeal Cardiopulmonary Support), a ventilator, and various treatment strategies, which can replace the patient’s lung function. But many patients die of multiple organ failure outside the lungs, which is very different from the past.
Why is there such a sudden acceleration?
Zhong Ming said that the patient’s body may have initiated an inflammatory storm, which caused the failure of various organs. What they observed is that many patients have elevated markers of myocardial damage, so the virus is likely to damage the heart muscle itself, similar to myocarditis, and may damage many other organs.

So perhaps some of those who “recover” will have lasting heart damage as something of a ticking time bomb.

Yes, I think its like a relapse with a a cytokine storm type of situation. I think this is why they wait so long to consider a patient recovered.
THERE was panic among shoppers in Cowley yesterday evening as paramedics dressed in protective suits and facemasks were spotted outside a supermarket.
...
Shopper John Clayton, who reported the incident, said he approached medical staff to inquire if the incident was connected with the deadly virus, however, they refused to answer.
Halfords employee Connor McDermott who was working at the store yesterday as medics turned up at about 4.30pm, said he overheard customers who said that a person had died in the incident.

The novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) is not an influenza virus. There are many different types of viruses that cause illness in humans and in animals and some are zoonotic meaning they can jump from animals to humans.
As someone here, I cant recall who, tried to explain:
Think of viruses as car brands. You have Fords and Chevys and Toyotas, etc. Many different and distinct car brands and many different and distinct types of viruses.
So think of influenza as being a Ford brand and coronaviruses as being a Chevy brand.
But within each car brand, there are many different models.
With Ford, you have many different models ranging from the Fiesta to the Mustang. There are also different models and options within those models (think of those as mutations).
Within the influenza virus there are many different strains A, B, C and D and within those various subtypes, just for example in type A alone:
H1N1 caused "Spanish flu" in 1918 and "Swine flu" in 2009.
H2N2 caused "Asian Flu".
H3N2 caused "Hong Kong Flu"
The coronavirus is a virus just as a Ford and a Chevy are all car brands, but belong to a different family of viruses than influenza.
Some coronaviruses are endemic and are responsible for a percentage of seasonal common colds, miserable to get but not particularly dangerous.
What is concerning about this particular coronavirus is that it is novel (not previous seen infecting humans) and with any novel virus we dont exactly know how it is spread and the eventual CFR or if it will eventually burn out, if it is seasonal and likely to come back or if it will mutate into a less lethal form as the 1918-19 Spanish Flu did.
Pretty low odds of exposure, Id think ;-)

14 of the returning Americans from the Princess cruise ship are infected.
They were still allowed to fly home on the same airplane, as others.
All returning will be quarantined.
These mechanisms for stopping disinformation have to be in place to stop real information when the time comes.
