Continuation of previous thread.
Regarding China and the people, NOT THE GOVERNMENT THERE:
Chinese citizens are like us. They donate to catastrophes just like we do, but they also know that the corrupt government employees will hoard many of the donations. They see the pain of others and do all they can to help. (This has grown far more prevalent in the last decade.)
When you go to a restaurant or any public place in China, 95% of the time they will NOT supply paper items like napkins or toilet paper, so everyone carries their own. You just have to in order to survive there. This leads to a cultural lack of hand washing - including restaurant workers. Yup.
Most of the adult population in China smokes or recently quit. Many of the worst air polluted cities on Earth are in China (and India or Africa), with many of the Chinese cities having huge percentages of 2.5 micron particle size, which damages lung tissue the most quickly. Add that to smoking.
The Chinese medical system is far different from ours in normal times. Are you feeling sick, do you have a compound fracture, a toothache, or stroke? Doesnt matter. You go to the hospital there, there are no private practices, no family doctors who know you. Emergency rooms are for ambulances and party members (5% of the people belong to the Party). You arrive, you check in, you get a number, you wait. You have never met your physician who has 5 years of college to be called doctor. If you get treated, you need to pay more for medicines that are not out of date, and even more for export medicines used in the West.
Thank God for what we have left of our system. The one I described above is what the Left wants for all of us here.
Wuhan, a city of 11 million, used to have 4,000 hospital beds. Do the math....
So Hubei Province, has very few beds, and even fewer test kits, as the worldwide demand far outstrips the current supply. Of course they are going to ship kits overseas for hard money before testing people that they cannot house.
Welcome to Communism.

As Japan grapples with the expanding new coronavirus outbreak, six more people five in Tokyo and another in Aichi Prefecture tested positive Sunday for the deadly virus, local authorities said.
During a news conference held Sunday evening, officials at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government said that two of the five were male acquaintances of a Tokyo taxi driver who tested positive Thursday after attending a party held Jan. 18 aboard a traditional yakatabune (traditional roofed party boat).

Yes, unfortunately it’s impossible to vouch for the vanishing document. I have a copy in free text.

China healthcare even worse. From someone I totally trust on China...
Delivery of high quality effective medical care and public health solutions in China suffers from a variety of problems. One of the most challenging is low levels of human capital in health care systems. According to one study, China has only 60,000 general practitioners or one per roughly 23,000 people. By comparison, in the United States there are 1,500 people per general practitioner. If all things were equal, this would mean Beijing one of the largest cities in the world would have fewer than 1,000 general practitioners. Nor are many medical professionals well trained. In community health centers, less than one fourth of doctors have a bachelors degree. Even as recently as a decade ago, only 67% of Chinese doctors had only been educated up to the junior college level, hardly enough under any reasonable standard to be a highly qualified medical professional..
That is not good for Wuhan. Means strangelove might be playing in China somewhere.
All China stock markets open UP. Shenzhen up 2%.
Crazy. Xi be throwing money at everything and everyone.
Do you work outside of the home?
Have you stocked up on a month or two worth of food/meds/neccesities?
Are you able to stay in your home, and not be around large crowds, for a month, or so, once/if this thing gets to pandemic level here?
Yep....am wondering the same. Three weeks should be enough time, per the global medical team updates, right?
Good grief!
The US ambassador to Cambodia took his whole family aboard to welcome the Westerdam!

Fake News from me.
Im on board the #Westerdam with my family to greet fellow Americans. Wow! The seven-member Hampton family from Missouri is high-spirited & making the best of their difficult journey. Were working with Cambodian friends to help the Hamptons and their fellow passengers get home. pic.twitter.com/2RPIbyDLVR— Ambassador W. Patrick Murphy (@USAmbCambodia) February 15, 2020
