I go back and forth between him and Chris Squire. I’ll just leave it at both were great, and are sorely missed.

I was lucky enough to see him live a number of times. His solo on the 1984 tour was the best bass solo I ever saw live. He was also epic - and back in the day he wore a CAPE!

I'm with ya on this DF ... I've been to over 300 *major* concerts since the early 70's, lots of the 'greats', but there are only two who I've seen more than 15 times each --- YES, and The Who !!!

Unfortunately only my first 4 Who shows were with the OX (the first being with Moonie on drums, 1974 NYC), but all my YES shows were with Chris Squire ... truly a magnificent Bassist, and a real inspiration :)

I saw Chris about a year before he died, and he had it until the end. The young guy they hired to replace him is quite good though. Bass line on South Side of the Sky might be my favorite Chris Squire effort.
