Proposed bill would require men in Alabama to get vasectomy
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WIAT) A proposed bill in the Alabama Legislature would require all men in the state to get a vasectomy within one month of their 50th birthday or the birth of their third biological child, whichever comes first.
The bill, HB-238, was proposed by Rep. Rolanda Hollis on Thursday. The proposal also states the procedure will be done at the mans own expense.
The bill simply states that under existing law, there are no restrictions on the reproductive rights of men.
Hollis said on Twitter that the measure would neutralize the states abortion restrictions.
The bill is currently in committee. If it is passed, the bill would go into effect the third month since its approval.

Rep. Rolanda Hollis.....
This proposal needs a catchy name. Perhaps: “I hate Men and Children Bill”?
Nor are there on women. There's not a law in the land that says or implies that women cannot, shall not, or may not reproduce.
Courtesy of those who warn us Trump is a dictator from whom we need protection.
under existing law, there are no restrictions on the stupidity rights of Democrats. Therefore, a law should be passed to lobotomize such tragically handicapped individuals, whose miniscule brain electricity is used for making stupid decisions and statements. That electricity should be redirected to the legs, so that they might “get the heck out of dodge”.
But because Abortion has ANY limitation is a restriction you see.
There are many women who I know who believe there is no more important right than the one to murder your unborn child inside you. (Seriously, even many Conservative Women hold Abortion as absolutely sacrosanct)
This is ridiculous. Is Alabama in China? But the 20, 30, 40 something can run around like Johnny Appleseed.
As a Tennessean I support amending this legislation before bringing it to a vote. All men in Alabama should be required to get vasectomies when they are 15, not 50.
Yah, Rolanda, there is history of forced sterilization in your neck of the woods. It’s been done before.
Would love to see them pass it - and then explain why a woman’s body and a child within is express property of the woman and a man’s body ain’t his own...they don’t want that discussion to take place....and enforcement would be a bitch....
You must have missed this part.

Not that the third child bit isnt just as stupid. Your first two children could be dead but after your third child is born the sheriff is outside your door ready to take you to the clinic to get snipped.
This is a constitutional republic and the state has no powers not granted it by the constitution. I find nothing in the text of the constitution granting the state the power to regulate procreation.
Thats nuts! Its going to make a vas deferens.
If this was California, my handsome grandson Elisha would not exist.
And why put it on the man? Women generally get custody in a divorce; why take away the mans ability to have children with a second wife?
Stupid on many levels.
I love a natural blond.
This kind of crap should be ignored and given no time in the news.
Anybody in the legislature can propose a bill that will be nothing more than a political statement. Proposing a bill like this that will never get passed is just the work of a liberal attention whore.
Some crazy arse mofos in this country and world, gg. /s
When balls are illegal only illegals will have balls.
Yep, they keep saying that yet I don’t see him trying to take guns like Virginias Ralph “blackface” Northam or mandating the people buy a companies product or be punished like Obamacare did or the people being forced to support foreign nationals who sneak into the country.
