A 50-cartridge clip, or magazine, or drum, might make the weapon a little cumbersome, but that is a judgment call on the part of the person bearing the weapon.
The idea, once you have selected a target, is to impose your will upon the targeted object, be it a piece of paper with an outline on it, a rattlesnake, a grizzly bear, an eight-point buck, or a fleeing criminal who has gunned down your companion.
