REALLY ?
Well like I said before, I’m all, “Hi, I’m Bill the Drill, my personal pronouns are ‘lepton’ and ‘fire hydrant’, and I’m glad to be here today to talk to you all about the good usage of the English. Language.” But nobody listens to me either, nobody since I was a little kid and my Mom put a pot over my head and started banging on it with a drywall hammer shouting “go to sleep now you little excrescence or I’ll put some more whiskey in yer formula!” but I got her back by pooping in my diaper which is a great habit to carry when you get to my age because you can do the same thing when they don’t give you yer damn pudding cup in time for the next Price Is Right. Which I hate. Not getting the pudding cup, that is, The Price Is Right is OK and so is pooping in yer diaper, right Joe? Joe’s my next-door neighbor. He used to be a big-time politician in Washington DC, honest. He ALWAYS gets his pudding cup in time. Say Hi to the people, Joe. Yeah, you and Corn Pop too. They love you both, Joe.
I know, right? (My most humble apologies!) But if I speak correctly, who will understand my point? I’ve never claimed to be a grammar expert, though I can see that that I’ve got a “leg up”, so to speak, on not a few of my FRellows. (Or is it OVER not a few?) However, as much as I hate to see it, let alone do it, (oh, dear... shouldn’t I have used dashes there, instead of commas?) speaking the vernacular does get the intended message to those to whom it is addressed. I’d rather use one specific five-dollar word, than a dozen lesser words in order to clarify my point, but if the hearer doesn’t know what that particular word means, what have I accomplished? Capisce? (Again, ten thousand pardons). ;D
I hate the use of right?
My pet peeve is, “Good on you!”, instead of “Good for you!”
Pet peeve for me is...”we need to have a discussion/conversation” blah blah blah.....People push this all the time!
LOL...I do too!
....”The quality of vanity post has gone downhill”....
And there’s far too many!
Yes it should......
.....moving forward.....
That’s another one I dislike, it’s like an order rather than ‘let’s move on”
Tsk Tsk! :)
LOL! Oh, wait...is it okay to use LOL? Let me fix it -—
Oh, Mr. Billthedrill, (shouldn’t that be Bill, the drill?) Anyway, your verbiage (and not in a bad way) is absolutely delightful! I especially enjoyed the use of the words, “pudding cup”, to connote the relative age of the characters portrayed in the latter part of your, again, simply delightful, parody! (Pardon my use of the same adjective twice, in one paragraph; but as I used the word, “again”, again, I thought it best to be perfectly clear in my meaning). Again, (oops) your words are delightful! Absolutely delightful! (Oh, drat! I’ve done it again!) Ohhh!
‘Lead, move or get out of the way.’ WTH does that mean? If you move aren’t you getting out of the way? LOL!
LoLoLo! well there it is!
