Waking up to the loss of one of our AZ police members was a blow.
David Kellywood was the SIL of a dear friend, married to her oldest daughter, and a friend of our youngest son’s.
Our friend called us around 2:30am and we have been waiting for more info.
Our whole mountain is mourning.

Fort Apache Indian Reservation, AZ – White Mountain Apache Police Officer David Kellywood was fatally shot in the line of duty early Monday morning, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS).
The incident occurred on State Route 73 near State Route 260 as Officer Kellywood was responding to a report of a domestic disturbance, the White Mountain Independent reported.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the women and men of the White River Police Department as they deal with the shooting death of Officer David Kellywood,” DPS Colonel Frank Milstead said, according to KTVK. “The dangers of police work is ever present as we protect all from the wicked and evil.”
This is very sad.
Ten years ago, I lived in a smaller town than now and we had a similar thing happen here in DE.
It rocked our town for months.
