“he married his second wife when she was only 17 (he was 46 at the time).”
Good grief, a 29 year age difference.

Unsupported, unsubstantiated, third party hearsay.

I am crushed to hear this ..... and had a huge crush on Conrad growing up watching Wild Wild West - my brothers & I loved that show. As good as WWW was, I loved Black Sheep Squadron even more.
RIP, ‘Pappy’.

Columbo busted his @ss for murder.
Conrad was pretty young and fit. In that episode he swam and jumped rope and I believe hit the bag.

He did a skit with Terry Bradshaw once and it was hilarious.
They couldn’t stop laughing at each other...

Very true. A great influence on young men.

"I enjoyed that WWII series on Pappy Boyington even though it was highly highly fictionalized. Also something I noticed (and it irritated me to some extent!) no one ever seemed to actually get killed or even wounded no mater what happened! Nor even peripheral characters, I guess the studio didnt have a red shirts to hand out!"
While it was a fictional version of the Black Sheep Squadron. The actual squadron were pretty wild. My Father knew a WWII Marine Aviator and he told my Father that the Black Sheep were so unruly that other squadrons were not allowed to fraternize with them. When you consider how wild all of the Marine Aviators were during WWII (Have fun since you'll be dead before its over.), the conduct of the Black Sheep had to be off the scale.

Some people just gotta hate, posting on an obituary thread without first verifying their facts. I think it was Ted Kennedy who said, "It's not about guilt or innocence, but the seriousness of the charges."

I met Pappy Boyington at Fullerton Airport, CA in the 80's also. Got his books(signed)around here somewhere.
Robert Conrad, one of my favorites. RIP Mr. West.

"The sunset that evening was one of the most beautiful I'd ever seen. My engine droned and the red gold danced on the wingtips. We were going back home, but we were one man short - John David Hutchison - Mechanic - Flint, Michigan."Loved the series when it first started, then PC(like always)pretty much ruined it.
