WUHAN VIRUS/Experts find how moderate 2019-nCoV infection ends with death

Experts have blamed a form of systemic inflammatory response syndrome called “cytokine storm” for killing some novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV)-infected patients who were not very sick in the early stage of infection but eventually died of multiple organ failure, according to Chinese media reports.
We depend somewhat on the cruises up here in Alaska for summer revenue - but I can’t imagine business as usual this summer. Frankly I don’t care if a single ship enters Alaskan waters - we can take the hit to our economy, we can’t take the hit to our population and health care system if things go south because of the tourists.
The idea of snapping up a cruise ticket for a $400 discount is indeed funny! More like we’ll give YOU $400 to come on our cruise!
George Soros on the other hand - and the folks who sit around Martha's Vineyard causing trouble on great grandpa's money, politicians who sell what they don't own (our government, our citizenship, and the fruits of our taxes - intelligence, defense etc) are the folks I'm talking about when I say 'elites' with quotes around it.

The number of newly diagnosed patients with new coronary pneumonia in Taiwan has increased to 18, and the first cases have no obvious symptoms
Xinhua News Agency 2020-02-10 05:30:57
The Taiwan Epidemic Epidemic Command Center held a press conference on the 9th to announce that Taiwan has added a new confirmed case of new coronavirus pneumonia, and the total number of patients has now increased to 18. This is the first case in Taiwan that has no obvious symptoms but high levels of virus in the body.
The person in charge of the Taiwan Epidemic Epidemic Command Center said the new case was the youngest son of a couple who had recently been diagnosed with the new coronavirus pneumonia. The family of four transferred from Hong Kong to ***Italy*** for travel on January 22, and returned to Taiwan from Hong Kong on February 1. First, the husband was notified of fever and pneumonia, and the wife was notified for the cold symptoms. The couple was diagnosed on February 6 and the eldest son was diagnosed on the 8th.

Check out # 229, and then backtrack.
Thanks, LilFarmer.
One of my biggest concerns is that people can test 2-3-4 times negative, over a fairly long period of time, just to test positive later. Around 30-60% of infected people test negative. What does this mean about the 100s (1000s) of cases that were tested and released in the US?
Water as well. Residents say 70% alcohol.
Thanks for the ping. A very interesting thread. Thanks to all posters, educators, researchers, linkers, scientists, health care workers, etc.

BREAKING: Epicenter of coronavirus outbreak reports 2,618 new cases and 91 new deaths
This is off a Daily Mail story:

“Dire coronavirus warnings from Britian’s top experts”
Leading virologists and infectious disease specialists met at a hastily organized meeting by the respected Science Media Centre in London on Friday amid the escalating outbreak.
They made a series of dire warnings about the disease, including:
*A vaccine will not be ready until at least 2021
*Even if we eradicate the virus in the next few months it could re-emerge in winter
*And outbreak in late 2020 could be devastating for NHS staff juggling winter crises
*The death of a seemingly healthy Chinese doctor in his 30’s raises fears it may have ability to kill people with strong immune systems
*Don’t be fooled by a decrease in confirmed cases in the last few days - this could be a lack of man power and errors in cataloging them in China
*The virus may be spread to babies from pregnant mothers during childbirth
*Cases are at least 10 times higher than the current 31,000 being reported
