US/NATO Troops Patrolling Opium Poppy Fields in Afghanistan May 21, 2010 These photos have been released by the Department of Defense and ISAF over the last few years. Some of the photos discuss instances of troops helping with the destruction of poppy fields. Many of the photos do not mention anything related to destruction or removal of poppies. Instead, they describe how troops “patrol” through and around the fields. In one instance, a US soldier even seems to be even helping with cultivation. In a recent report from Geraldo Rivera which aired in late April on Fox News, a USMC Lt. Col. indicated that US forces encourage the Aghans to grow different crops, however, out of fear of losing stability poppy cultivation is tolerated and even supported. In November 2009, the Afghan Minister of Counter Narcotics General Khodaidad Khodaidad stated that the majority of drugs are stockpiled in two provinces controlled by troops from the US, the UK, and Canada. He also said that NATO forces are taxing the production of opium in the regions under their control and that foreign troops are earning money from drug production in Afghanistan. https://publicintelligence.net/usnato-troops-patrolling-opium-poppy-fields-in-afghanistan/ think anything has changed since 2010?Nahhhhh.....

In Afghanistan, opium production is growing like a weed — and nothing, not even billions of dollars of U.S. money, has been able to quell it.

According to the United Nations, the war-torn nation provides 90 percent of the world’s supply of opium poppy, the bright, flowery crop that transforms into one of the most addictive drugs in existence.

And as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention sounds the alarm about a worsening heroin epidemic here in the U.S., opium production in Afghanistan shows no signs of slowing down.

“Afghanistan has roughly 500,000 acres, or about 780 square miles, devoted to growing opium poppy. That’s equivalent to more than 400,000 U.S. football fields — including the end zones,” John Sopko, Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction, said in a speech in May.

The U.S. has spent $8.4 billion in counternarcotics programs in Afghanistan. But opium output keeps rising: Fifteen years ago, Afghanistan accounted for just 70 percent of global illicit opium production.

Historically accd. to George Webb in a zillion of his videos there has been a well organized ratline of smuggling of everything from guns, weapons, drugs, heroine, human smuggling, body parts from Afghanistan to numerous stops by Air force jets winding up in the Mid West at Offat aFB.
It has been so prevalent its done in plain sight and at first 41 ran it than Hillary no telling if its still in operation or not but lots of product from afghaistan grow ouhouses and paiki houses was shipped all over the place.

George Webb on how “the ratline” works: “It’s just Mena Airport on a global scale”
Posted on June 4, 2017 by Ann Kreilkamp
The “ratline”: the way drugs, money, guns, sex slaves, human organs are moved secretly from one place to another.

“Besides means and motive, I look at modus operandi and meta data.”
“I’m just following the dead bodies. . . Seth Rich is just one of a hundred cases that are going to be solved.”
“This is Iran/Contra, but going east/west, rather than north/south.”
“She controls D.C.”
“The reason you need to go through NATO countries, via C130 traffic, circling from Belgium to Turkey to Afghanistan/Pakistan, back to Turkey, Belgium, then on to D.C., the Office of Naval Intelligence” — is you don’t have to account internationally for what’s going through.

To those who think that Webb’s astonishing version of the world is farfetched, I’m reminded of Robert David Steele, his view of the real reason for those 1000 overseas bases:

To all of this I would add my most recent statement: that the main reason we have 1,000 military bases all over the world is to facilitate CIA smuggling for the elite of gold, cash, drugs, guns, and small children — we need to stop that and close all those overseas bases — and repeat my long-standing statement across many books and other works: 70% or more of the secret intelligence community, and especially the NSA programs for spying on and blackmailing US politicians and judges while also doing mass surveillance on the public, are downright evil and should be shut down by our President, Donald Trump.

Hats off to George Webb, internet opensource intelligence investigator extraordinaire. And as he commented, off the cuff, somewhere near the finale of his 223 day (so far) journey, “Isn’t this fun?”

................
Webb has been on to this stuff for several years and writes about it openly.
