Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez says it is imperative for Democrats to back the eventual 2020 nominee - even if subversive policies by party leaders torpedo a campaign.
The New York Democrat - a staunch supporter of Sen. Bernard Sanders campaign - told Time magazine that underhanded tactics should not deter Democrats in the general election of their candidate were targeted during primary elections.

Ms. Ocasio-Cortez went on to warn key decision makers not to attempt to politically kneecap Mr. Sanders campaign.
Ocasio-Cortez also discouraged Democrats from using party rules or other mechanisms to block Sanders if he advances, the magazine reported. I dont think its a good idea for people to try to use superdelegate or other kind of subversive policies to deny anybody the nomination because its incredibly divisive to do so, and very demoralizing, which is a direct threat in November, she said, adding, The moment you start playing games trying to deny whoever is the nominee, we really start to get into dangerous territory in terms of defeating Trump.

I think Kirstin Gillibrand would be an easier target. But, Chuck's term ends in 2022, while Gillibrand's runs until 2024.
In 2024, AOC will be old enough to run for President, so maybe senator won't be good enough.
“If she lives. Sounds like she thinks she has the chops to go toe to toe with Hillary.”
I don’t think the stupid snot realizes that Hillary is the muscle for the DNC.
In a statewide race AOC will be a lock /s
All those upstate New Yorkers are died in the wool progressives /s
Im sure Hillary is not concerned with AOC as a candidate. She knows who is pulling her strings. Those are the people who will find themselves being found by the living if they try to stop Hillary.
I don’t know if her win with a miniscule turnout can be parlayed into a statewide federal office. She’s got name recognition, but that cuts both ways. Schumer’s up in 2022, so she still has time to damage herself further.
Maybe if she started getting Christmas cards from Vince Foster. But, does she know who Vince Foster was?
Agreed, but the thought of the little Chihuahua nipping at his heals has appeal.
Should that come up again, ask them "Then why do the Democrats want to get rid of the Electoral College?"
There is some kind of mental block or disconnect there. It is 100% you can lead a horse to water, but you cant make it drink.
