Concord, New Hampshire (CNN) Former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders are in a tight race for first place as Iowa continued reporting the last of its Democratic presidential caucus results early Thursday morning.

With 97% of Iowa's precincts reporting, the former mayor remained the leader of the race, with 26.2% of state delegates. He's closely trailed by Sanders , with 26.1%.

They're followed by Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren at 18.2%, former Vice President Joe Biden at 15.8% and Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar at 12.2%.

Iowa Democratic Party Chairman Troy Price told state party officials on a call Wednesday night that the full results are expected by Thursday morning.

But in Iowa, they're still counting, after technical issues with the app used to report results led to a complete breakdown on caucus night.

I demand a recount.

I think when the smoke clears, we will find that the App worked as advertised. I also think it has a filtering system that says these are the expected poll numbers from a week prior to the Caucus, and the incoming numbers ought to be within two-percent of the expectations. I think the App system sent off an alarm as the numbers rolled in....Biden wasn’t in the lead, and he was seriously trailing Bernie and Mayor Pete. At that point, I suspect the App managers turned off the system and said this data can’t be correct.

I will go to suggest that Mayor Pete picks up five to ten points for the Nevada primary, and might come out ahead of Joe Biden again.

Thanks to the dem’s screw ups this steaming pile has already cooled down making Tuesday’s Massachusetts primary twice as important as it normally should have been. If the dems didn’t spend all of their time and effort trying ( and failing ) to take President Trump down, they could have looked after their own house better.

“Buttigieg in front, with Sanders right behind in a tightly packed race.”

Yes, the double entendres write themselves.

If you use the ‘all polls’ page on RealClear:

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/latest_polls/democratic_nomination_polls/

Then you can see the various polls and how they differ. There’s actually one or two polls for NH, that show Joe B leading (the Economist for example). Most all polls show Bernie ahead by six points (as of today). Second place differs among all of them...with Mayor Pete on the gain list. Given five more days, I think Mayor Pete will make up the ground...easily get to second place, and just barely loose to Bernie. If Bernie screws up at any point...Mayor Pete takes the gain and wins.

All of this leads to Joe Biden losing traction, and Senator Warren finished off by Super-Tuesday.

It’s the New Hampshire Primary, but mostly controlled by Massachusans.

Hope they vote for the Bolshevik!

Yes, the RCP shows what should be the lead story in my view and would be under old fashioned approaches - Sanders clearly won the popular vote by several thousand, both in the so-called first round and the second round. And Biden is below 15 percent in both rounds. But instead they focus on the delegate share, some bizarre formulation that puts Buttigieg in the slight lead and gets Biden to 15.8 percent. And the people that designed this mess want to run our country and our lives!

I suppose all the banana republics south of the border are frantically trying to get in touch with Iowa democrats in hopes of getting them down there to run their elections.

Seriously, there are only about 1700 precincts in Iowa. By this point someone could have driven to each one and added the votes manually.

It is not that freaking hard.

former Vice President Joe Biden at 15.8%

Right. Keep Quid Pro Joe above 15% so that he can move on to the next primary with delegates. What a bold face lie

Good catch.

The Dems don’t want to reveal Bernie actually had more votes, but ends up with fewer delegates.

The Dems know their people are not a curious bunch. They are not curious enough to want to know how the sausage is cooked. So, they won’t give the vote counts to show how each really faired. The whole Dem primary show is a sham.
